Steel-Framed Aluminium Slat Gate, Wicklow

Our team completed this steel-framed aluminium slat gate project in Wicklow. We installed a steel gate frame fitted with wood-effect aluminium slats, bringing two confirmed gate materials together within the construction. The steel frame forms the main structure, while the aluminium slats create the visible infill. Their wood-effect finish gives the slatted surface the appearance of a wooden gate, while the specified slat material remains aluminium rather than natural timber.

We also fitted an aluminium backing plate behind the wood-effect slats. This backing plate closes the direct gaps through the slatted gate, creating the confirmed privacy function. Its position behind the slats limits direct views through the spaces between them while keeping the slatted arrangement visible from the front. The plate forms a continuous backing layer within the gate without changing the confirmed aluminium construction of the slats.

This is one of our gate installations combining a steel frame, wood-effect aluminium slats and an aluminium backing plate. The completed Wicklow project uses the backed slat construction to provide the confirmed privacy function while retaining the specified steel and aluminium materials.
